Actually, this is not understood well.
It is understood now that skin color of chameleon is transparent. The color of chameleon is not the color of skin but the color of pigment cell in the interior of the skin. Therefore, if there is no pigment cell, chameleon becomes a semitransparent animal of completely exposed to view of internal organs.
