There are many small irregularities on the surface of the ice and it does not slip due to strong friction.
Because water covers the surface irregularities when water attaches the place with the small irregularities and unevenness disappears, friction becomes weak and it becomes slippery.
The ice of the skating rink does not originally slip, too.
When ice skate blades brush the ice, ice melts and the water enters between blades and ice, then it becomes slippery.
However, the reason “why does ice melt by the brushing of blades though temperature does not rise?” is not elucidated yet.
